Text

This work raises awareness about the predicament of being manipulated by symbols and contexts mediated by media.

In the development of the internet, media platforms have formed their own languages, symbols, and cultural backgrounds. While we surf the internet, we are subtly influenced by the cultures behind different media.

The artist uploaded clips from some of the most inspiring speeches in American history to several popular internet platforms, allowing viewers to experience the same image across different contexts.

Speeches, once a powerful means of encouragement, are distorted and engulfed by the unique contexts of internet platforms, eventually becoming a silly monologue.

Platform visual features become filters with cultural meanings. In this process, judgment often happens before listening or watching. The medium becomes more important than the information itself.
